Dr. Vicki J. Scheidt, DACVD (Diplomat, American College of Veterinary Dermatology) is a veterinary dermatologist / allergist and the owner of the Hanover Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Scheidt received her B.A. degree from Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the University of Missouri, College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, Dr. Scheidt did a general internship at a specialty/ emergency clinic in West Chester county, New York and was a staff veterinarian at a 4-doctor practice in Warwick, Rhode Island before beginning a residency program in veterinary dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine. Following the completion of her residency, Dr. Scheidt became an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the College of Veterinary Medicine, North Carolina State University and a Diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology. In 1988, Dr. Scheidt moved to Hanover, NH with her husband and has practiced veterinary dermatology in the Upper Valley region since that time, becoming the owner of the Hanover Veterinary Clinic in 1997. Dr. Scheidt has been a long-standing member of both the American College of Veterinary Dermatology and American Academy of Veterinary Dermatology and was on the Executive Board of the AAVD for many years, serving as President from 2002-2003. In addition, Dr. Scheidt has served on both the Program and Ethics Committee of the ACVD. Dr. Scheidt lives in Hanover, New Hampshire with her husband, Dr. P. Jack Hoopes, a Dartmouth College Professor and medical researcher, their daughter, Mollie, a student at Bates College and their Border Terrier, Clementine.
